National Youth Religious Recognitions

Discipleship Pin (parish/school award for youth)
Discipleship Pin (parish/school award for youth)
The youth recognition pin is presented to youth who respond to the call of discipleship through service or ministry to their parish/school community. Present these awards to:
- young people who exemplify discipleship and service
- youth group officers
- young people who volunteer in the religious education program

National Adult Religious Recognitions
National Adult Religious Recognitions
These national adult recognitions are available to diocesan Catholic Committees giving them the opportunity to recognize adults ministering to the faith needs of our Catholic youth through the Girl Scout or Camp Fire programs. Each diocese sets their own guidelines for these recognitions following the general criteria given by NFCYM, for example - number of years of service required before the recognition is given. Diocesan Catholic Committees may also choose to implement other adult recognitions as they feel are needed.

The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton recognition was inaugurated in 1980 to recognize the meritorious contributions of adults who serve Catholic youth through Girl Scouts and Camp Fire. This medal affirms the work of those who help youth develop their spiritual lives within the context of these organizations. It will ordinarily be received before the St. Anne Medal is earned, but is not a requirement for receiving the St. Anne Medal.
The St. Elizabeth Ann Seton recognition was inaugurated in 1980 to recognize the meritorious contributions of adults who serve Catholic youth through Girl Scouts and Camp Fire. This medal affirms the work of those who help youth develop their spiritual lives within the context of these organizations. It will ordinarily be received before the St. Anne Medal is earned, but is not a requirement for receiving the St. Anne Medal.

The St. Anne Medal is the highest national recognition for adults who serve Catholic youth through Girl Scouts and Camp Fire. The recognition was inaugurated in 1957 and redesigned in 1980. The purposes of the St. Anne recognition are to honor the outstanding services of adults who contribute to the spiritual development of Catholic young people in these organizations and to further Catholic adult leadership in youth ministry through these national youth-serving organizations.

Companions on the Journey
The Companions on the Journey is prestigious and highest recognition given by a diocese from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry for exceptional service to youth and in furthering the cause of youth ministry within their organization, diocese, and parish to adults who have made a significant impact on youth ministry. Nominees should be recipients of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the St. Anne Medals. They must be actively serving young people for a minimum of fifteen years or more.
The Companions on the Journey is prestigious and highest recognition given by a diocese from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry for exceptional service to youth and in furthering the cause of youth ministry within their organization, diocese, and parish to adults who have made a significant impact on youth ministry. Nominees should be recipients of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the St. Anne Medals. They must be actively serving young people for a minimum of fifteen years or more.
