Difference between Medal and Patch

After a young person has completed one of the religious recognition programs, he or she may apply for the corresponding medal/patch as a sign of their hard work and accomplishment. This is definitely the culmination of the program.

The religious recognition medals are the official award for completing a program. The patches are not to be given in place of the medal but as a supplement. Many youth deeply cherish their medals, and as a result, are reluctant to wear them except on special occasions that require an official uniform. The religious recognition patches are designed with this in mind. They can be worn on camp uniforms, back of sashes or vest, or attached to tote bags.
